Waterfowl Hunter Hit in Head by Dead Goose is Airlifted to Hospital

A waterfowl hunter is suffering head and facial injuries after reportedly being knocked unconscious from a falling dead goose.

According to WJZ Baltimore, Maryland Natural Resources Police were on the scene, and investigators say a 51-year-old man by the name of Robert Meilhammer had to be airlifted to Shock Trauma for his injuries.

Meilhammer was out hunting with a group of friends around 5 p.m. when the unlikely injury occurred.

Several first responders showed up to the scene near Miles River in Easton, and it was determined that the hunter needed further treatment at a hospital. He was taken by ambulance to Easton Airport and transferred via helicopter to the trauma unit.

He has since been listed in stable condition, and should recover back to 100 percent with time.
