Video: Firing a .50 BMG . . . Flare Gun??

Perhaps you caught the TAOFLEDERMAUS video that shows a shotgun shell being fired through a flare gun. Well, in this video, Edwin Sarkissian looks to run a similar type of demonstration, but he’s taking it to the next level.

What would happen if a .50 BMG round was inserted into that tiny flare gun? 

For one, it makes for one of the best “feature images” we’ve ever used for an article, and two, the large-caliber round fits like a glove inside the flare gun’s compact barrel. All signs point to go for this experiment, now it’s just a matter of figuring out how to pull the trigger . . .

Edwin plays it smart here, and doesn’t take any risks firing this thing by hand. He quickly rigs up a way to mount the gun, ties string to the trigger and backs far away.
