It’s Thursday and it’s ‘Shark Week,’ so we figured the most appropriate way to commemorate that was to dig up footage of what might be the world’s largest white shark ever caught on camera.
The shark was nicknamed “Deep Blue” by shark expert Mauricio Hoyos Padilla, and it’s widely recognized as possibly the biggest great white sharks ever filmed from a cage, according to Discovery.
This week, as millions of shark fans tune into “Shark Week,” Padilla’s footage of “Deep Blue” surfaced on Facebook once again:
As ABC reports, this incredible footage was captured off the coast of Guadalupe Island.
Experts agreed, despite some doubts, that the video shows a pregnant female around 20 feet in length and over 50 years old.
