AR15 VS. AK47: Sub-Zero Freezing Torture Test

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves pits the AK-47 and the AR-15 against each other in a sub-zero freezing torture test. The ‘Gat-cicle Challenge’ if you will. This will either start a war, or settle the debate between which gun is best once and for all.

For this challenge, both guns were placed in a Yeti Tundra 125 with a boat load of dry ice. The guns ‘chilled’ in the cooler for over seven hours in temperatures well below negative 20 degrees Fahrenheit. James then removed the frozen firearms from the Tundra (one at a time) and shot each one immediately to see if they would still fire.

Spolier alert: Only one gun comes out on top. Can you guess which it is?

Was your prediction accurate? I suppose I shouldn’t be as shocked as I am in the AK’s display of durability, but these things just continue to impress me!

And while I’m hovering around the topic, let’s see if any of you ‘gun nerds’ can enlighten us.. At the 9:35 mark, James poses the question: how much force does an AR15 hammer exert compared to an AK47 hammer?

I know someone out there can help us with this one, so feel free to chime in in the comments section below!

You know what they say; The only thing louder than a ‘bang’ when you’re expecting a ‘click’ is a ‘click’ when you’re expecting a ‘bang.’
