Colorado’s Chatfield State Park Closed to Boating Effective Nov. 30

Littleton, CO. – Chatfield State Park will close to boating on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. due to the onset of winter and the seasonal closure of the aquatic nuisance species (ANS) vessel inspection stations. All waters in the park will be closed to both motorized and non-motorized watercraft. During the boating season, ANS inspectors at Chatfield have inspected over 40,000 vessels, applied over 10,000 ANS vessel inspection seals, and decontaminated over 135 vessels. Chatfield Reservoir will reopen to boating on March 1, 2012 as weather allows.

At Chatfield State Park, the water temperature is currently around 45 degrees, so please use caution when going out on the water for the remainder of November. Always take warm clothing and be sure to have a life jacket for everyone on board your vessel, in addition to a sound producing device.
