Wiley X Inc. Now Manufacturing XL-1 Advanced Ballistic Spectacle in USA

Leading protective eyewear manufacturer Wiley X, ® Inc. has announced that its proven XL-1 Advanced spectacle is now being manufactured in America, at the veteran-owned company’s Livermore, California headquarters. This latest addition to Wiley X’s expanding line of “Made-in-the USA” tactical eyewear products is engineered to provide military and law enforcement users with ballistic quality eye protection and superior performance in harsh conditions such as bright sun, howling winds and blowing sand.

The XL-1 Advanced is part of Wiley X’s successful Changeable Series glasses, designed for easy switching of lenses in the field to adapt to changing environments, tactical situations and light conditions. One key to the Wiley X XL-1’s battlefield performance and superior eye comfort for wearers is Wiley X’s removable Ultra Foam™ gasket, designed to block reflected light, seal out wind and protect against airborne debris. The XL-1’s No Tears™ System does more than keep the wearer’s eyes comfortable, it also enhances the performance of a soldier’s most important battlefield asset — his/her vision.
These spectacles are lightweight for all-day wearing comfort and feature double injected temple tips for added stability during heavy action. The Wiley X XL-1 Advanced provides superior ballistic protection, exceeding ANSI Z87.1-2003 safety standards, and meeting the stringent new GL-PD 10-12 MCEP standard (which supersedes the MIL-PRF-31013 Ballistic Standard.)
The XL-1 Advanced is available as a single lens package with Wiley X’s LA™ Light Adjusting Lens technology, as a two-lens package with interchangeable Smoke Grey/Clear lenses, or a three lens package which includes Smoke Grey, Clear and Light Rust lenses. Wiley X’s XL-1 Advanced two lens system carries its own NSN (National Stock Number): 4240-01-504-1037. This unique spectacle is also RX-ready, making the XL-1 ideal for soldiers who require corrective lenses to perform at their best.
