American Rifleman Magazine Names Leupold Mark 8 CQBSS 2012 Optic of the Year

Beverton, OR — Leupold’s Mark 8 1.1-8×24 mm CQBSS riflescope has received the prestigious 2012 “Optic of the Year” Golden Bullseye Award presented by the National Rifle Association’s (NRA) American Rifleman magazine.

Golden Bullseye Awards acknowledge the finest products available in the shooting sports. Winners are selected by a seven-member committee comprised of editors, graphic designers and veteran NRA Publications staff.

“We pushed the envelope with this scope to give American warfighters and competitive shooters the optical edge they need to accomplish their mission in the most demanding environments,” said Kevin Trepa, vice president, tactical division for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “We greatly appreciate this Optic of the Year recognition for the Mark 8 CQBSS because the award criteria are in line with our own standards: reliability in the field, meeting or exceeding performance expectations, and innovation in design and function.”

Pat Mundy, communications manager for Leupold & Stevens, added, “We are thrilled to receive this award because we have such high regard for American Rifleman magazine and its staff. We are honored that they selected the Mark 8 CQBSS as their Golden Bullseye winner for optics in 2012.”
