Black Diamond, Inc. Brings On New Leadership for Business Process and Supply Chain Management
Black Diamond, Inc., a leading global innovator in climbing, skiing and mountain sports equipment, has kicked off 2012 with two new key hires: leading industry consultant, Walter M. Wilhelm, was appointed to the newly created position of vice president of business process, while Glenn Ritter, formerly a director/general manager at Flextronics International Ltd., was appointed to the position of senior director of supply chain management.
Wilhelm brings more than 15 years of experience in the outdoor and action sports markets, with a focus on the development of strategic and structural plans, business process implementation, and systems integration. This has included developing product line management (PLM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for leading brands like Arc’Teryx, Patagonia and Quiksilver.
“The VP of business process will play an important role in structuring our organization to achieve optimal execution,” states Mark Ritchie, VP of operations. “Wilhelm has worked with our apparel team from early on as a consultant, and now that he’s in-house he will assure that our design and development groups can focus on bringing the most innovative designs to market.”
Glenn Ritter joins the Black Diamond team as the new senior director of supply chain management. Ritter will replace Ryan Gellert, who was recently promoted to the position of Black Diamond Equipment brand president. Ritter brings over a decade of experience in supply chain management, most recently at Flextronics where he oversaw supply chain design and operations support for sites in Asia, the Americas and Europe. Ritter will be responsible for strategic vendor management, purchasing, logistics, planning, and customer support functions.
“We are investing in the right people and processes required to take our business to the next level,” continues Ritchie. “We are excited to tap some talented players to bolster our team and help us achieve greater success in the future. Both Walter and Glenn are highly experienced and capable leaders in their respective fields of expertise. As a bonus, both are passionate climbers and skiers and will fit nicely into the culture of the BD.”
