Olympians, World Champions to Compete in Archery Team Trials in Pennsylvania

Three Olympians, the number one world ranked male archer, several World Championship medalists, a multi-time World University Champion, and many national champions. This weekend, nearly 100 of the country’s best archers in junior and senior divisions will gather at Competitive Edge Sports in King of Prussia at an archery star-studded Team Trials event to compete for spots on the World Archery Indoor Championships Team.

Marquee archers competing this weekend include Brady Ellison (AZ), the 23-year-old archery superstar who earlier this year became the first athlete ever to win three consecutive World Cup stages as well as two consecutive World Cup finals. He is currently ranked number one in the world, and is currently first in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials. He will be joined by Olympic teammate and two time Olympic medalist Victor Wunderle (SC), two time Olympian Jennifer Nichols (TX), World Champion Reo Wilde (ID) and World University Champion Erika Anschutz (NE). Pennsylvania resident and multi-time World Cup gold medalist Christie Colin is also expected to compete.

Pennsylvania residents can also look forward to intense competition from members of local Junior Olympic Archery Development clubs, who will be vying for spots on the junior team. The event is sanctioned by USA Archery, and is locally organized by Competitive Edge Sports with the assistance of Cindy Bevilacqua, a Pennsylvania resident who was a member of the United States Archery Team. Bevilacqua coaches several young archers in the local area, serves as an international team leader for USA Archery, and was recently inducted into the Penncrest High School Hall of Fame.
