Small Changes Make a Big Difference in the GUNS Magazine March Issue

The March issue of GUNS Magazine shows how seemingly small things like the extra 3/4 of an inch added to a barrel and slide, adjustable sights on a single action or shot placement on big game can make a big difference.
Precision shooting requires a precision pistol barrel, and for “Long Slide Magic,” Massad Ayoob not only got to test out the new XD(M) 5.25, he was also able to talk to Dave Williams and Chad Dyer of Springfield Armory about their new pistol. The 5.25 sports a barrel length designed specifically for champion shooters who strive for perfection.
Jon Strayer, an IDPA 5 Gun Master, has held multiple state and regional IDPA championship titles, and won many matches with the XD and XD(M) pistols. Of his 5.25, he says, “It’s a tack-driver out of the box. It’s not picky about ammo; the 115 grain, 124 grain and 147 grain all go where you aim them. I really like the balance. I’ll be shooting the XD(M) 5.25 at my next major IDPA match.”
