Ross Tyser 2012 SHOT Show Knives

A pair of Ross Tyser custom knives featured in the 2012 SHOT Show auction on GunBroker.com yielded $4,000 for programs in support of America’s hunting and shooting sports heritage.

Coordinated by the Hunting Heritage Trust in conjunction with the NSSF, the 2012 SHOT Show auction marked a record fourth time that Ross Tyser creations have been selected as the official SHOT Show auction knives.

The first featured knife was a Tactical Master that Tyser calls the “Rock Pile” in recognition of its reliable service in Afghanistan. As Tyser explained it, the “Rock Pile” featured Double Edge ATS-34 blade with a liquid nitrogen quench. The knife’s overall length was 10 1/4 inches with 4 ¾- inch main edge and 3-inch upper edge. Blade was 1 1/2 inches wide and 1/8 inch thick.

The “Rock Pile” featured a custom handle of unique Green Canvas Micarta and a form-fitted Green Kydex sheath with Tek Lok.

The second knife was an original Damascus blade “Heritage Edition”. The “Heritage Edition” featured Double Edge 384 layer 1084 and 15n20 Damascus blade in a Twist Pattern. The overall length was 10 1/4 inches with 4 ¾-inch main edge and 3-inch upper edge. Blade was 1 1/2 inches wide and 1/8 inch thick. Handle was crafted from exquisite stabilized palm wood.

Each knife auctioned for exactly $2,000.00.

The 2012 SHOT Show auction was featured exclusively on GunBroker.com. Proceeds benefit the efforts of the Hunting Heritage Trust in support of America’s hunting and shooting sports heritage.
