QDMA’s “Quality Food Plots” Book Breaks Sales Records

Only five years since publication, the book Quality Food Plots has sold more than 15,000 copies, making it the top-selling and fastest-selling book ever offered by the Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA). That rate puts the book among the top-sellers in the hunting industry and likely the highest-selling book ever on food plots or deer habitat.
“For years, the number one topic we were asked about at QDMA was food plots,” said Lindsay Thomas Jr., Director of Communications. “We designed Quality Food Plots to answer every question about growing food plots for whitetails. It is the ultimate reference guide, and readers are quick to recommend it to friends. Many say they won’t loan their copy for fear of not getting it back. I believe that explains the book’s record sales.”
Now in its second printing, Quality Food Plots is a 310-page, full-color book featuring 14 chapters written by a number of experts, including wildlife biologists, agronomists, soil scientists, equipment experts, and deer hunters, yet written in terms that even a food plot novice can follow easily. The last chapter – and the most popular – includes in-depth profiles of more than 30 species of food plot crops, along with color photos, range maps, and guides to planting and management. Most readers say their copy of Quality Food Plots stays on the dashboard of their pickup truck and has become scratched, scuffed, smudged and dog-eared from being carried in the field on food-plot work days.
Quality Food Plots begins by providing readers with an understanding of deer nutrition requirements and the role of food plots in meeting those needs. Chapters progress through soil fertility, equipment needs, planting methods, troubleshooting and weed management before offering tips on incorporating food plots into hunting strategies. Hundreds of color photos, charts and illustrations provide visual emphasis for important concepts. In short, Quality Food Plots contains everything a reader needs to begin growing successful food plots except dirt and seed.
Quality Food Plots is available from QDMA’s online store, The Shed, found at www.qdma.com.
