Colorado Springs, CO– The Colorado Parks and Wildlife booth at the Colorado Springs RV, Sport & Outdoor Show will provide information and entertainment for those who stop by.
The show takes place at the Colorado Springs Event Center at Rustic Hills, 3960 Palmer Park Blvd., Feb. 17-19.
The Parks and Wildlife booth will have experts on hand to answer questions about camping, hunting, fishing, wildlife viewing or any other outdoor recreation questions you have. Anyone looking to test their shooting skills can take aim in the laser-shot hunting simulation tent.
“The laser-shot hunting simulator is a great way to teach youngsters about firearms safety in a safe and fun environment,” said CPW District Wildlife Manager Jeromy Huntington. “Adults like it too because of its lifelike computer graphics. Shot the right animal and you score points, but shoot the wrong animal and your score drops. It’s really a lot of fun.”
Parks and Wildlife staff will host six outdoor skills seminars during the weekend. The schedule includes a fly-fishing talk at 3 p.m. Friday, followed by a discussion on how to be successful at drawing a Colorado big game hunting license at 6:30 p.m. Saturday’s programs include an elk hunting seminar at 11 a.m. and a turkey hunting class at 4 p.m. On Sunday, there is a turkey hunting program at noon and an elk hunting seminar at 2 p.m.
Show hours are Friday, 1-8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission is $5 for adults; $4 for military and seniors (62+), children under 12 are admitted free.
