The Latest Gear From Exhibitors at Bassmaster Classic

While the qualifying fishermen at Bassmaster Classic duel it out with the fish on the water, almost 200 exhibitors gather at the Shreveport Convention Center in Louisiana to show their latest products. It’s a bass fisher’s paradise. We’ve put together a list of highlights for you to view from home.
Shimano is one of the B.A.S.S. Federation Nation sponsors. The company is adding another baitcasting reel to its Core series this year. The new 100 MG7 provides anglers with a faster 7.0:1 gear ratio reel. According to the product developer Ken Iida, the 100 MG7 provides higher speed to cover water more effectively and while being a comfortable tool for all-day use. All the reels in the Core series are made with lightweight magnesium and Magnumlite spool. Advantage Bait Company is featuring their custom spinnerbaits with Extreme Flash Technology (EFT) blades. Advantage Bait Company CEO Jason Schwartz says the blades are the “brightest surface flash on the market and the only spinnerbait utilizing 100% silicone-hubbed skirts with twin built-in ‘necktie’ trailers.” EFT is a patented process that disburses light in multiple directions on a blade because of patterned etchings on the blade’s surface. From the company’s website, “EFT creates a 3D holographic pattern of light which calls bass and other game fish from greater distances.”
G.Loomis is a maker of quality fishing rods. At the expo the company will have all the NRX ‘Green’ bass rods to check out, along with the 2011 ICAST Show award-winning GL2 series. PowerPro continues to highlight its Super 8 Slick braid that has been a huge introduction for the PowerPro brand. It casts like a bullet, but silent. It’s offered in both timber brown and aqua green colors to give avid bass anglers even a better fish-catching advantage.
