Team FNH USA Expands with New Members

Following the addition of multi-platinum country music artist and TV’s 3-Gun Nation host Mark Wills, Team FNH USA is pleased to welcome 6 more new members to their award-winning shooting team. Former “Top Shot” Contestants Chris Cerino and Ashley Spurlin are joined by new recruits Karla Herdzik, Greg Jordan, Joe Satterfield, and Jayson Smith to round out the 2012 roster.

“We have been building on our core team from day one. With these additions we have established a cadre of subject matter experts from across the shooting community. Our goal is to enhance the products we use during competition and promote sportsmanship, integrity, and respect for the shooting sports. I am proud to consider this group a part of my family in Team FNH USA,” says Tommy Thacker, Captain of Team FNH USA.

Chris Cerino is an internationally known firearms instructor and shooting competitor who has been training law enforcement officers, military operators and civilians for more than 10 years. He is a Police Officer and tactical team member with nearly 20 years of experience at the municipal, county, state and federal levels. Chris is the owner and operator of the Chris Cerino Training Group; his formal competition career began with his appearance on the History Channel’s “Top Shot” competition reality show.

Karla Herdzik, 28, of Alexandria, VA, is a civilian analyst for the U.S. Army, with experience in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Karla has been shooting since 2009, and began competing in 3-gun in 2011 after being inspired by watching 3-Gun Nation.

Greg Jordan, 30 lives in New Freedom, PA, with his wife and two children.  Greg is an officer and firearms instructor for the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.  He began shooting competitively in 2007, and has achieved the classification of USPSA Grand Master.  Greg recently transitioned to 3-gun to further enhance his job skills and to pass on the lessons he learns in competition to his fellow officers.

Joe Satterfield, 40, lives in the metro Atlanta area with his wife and two children.  Joe serves as the SWAT Commander for a county sheriff’s office.   Joe has been shooting competitively for over 20 years.

Jayson Smith, 39, lives in Virginia with his wife and daughter, who frequently accompany him to the range.  Jayson has more than 10 years of experience in law enforcement at the local and federal levels.  He has been shooting USPSA and IDPA competitively since 2007, and began competing in 3-gun matches in 2009.

Ashley Spurlin, 35, lives on the east coast with his wife and new baby. Ashley is a military advisor specializing in counterterrorism techniques in non-permissive environments. Ashley began shooting when he joined the military in 2000, and started competing in 2009.  Ashley entered the world of 3-gun last season to stay proficient for work, to transfer the tactics and techniques from competitive shooting into the combat environment, and to have fun.

“As an Executive, and one of the first team members, I know how important the commitment is to be part of a shooting team and be ready to make the hardest shot, and then answer even the most basic shooting question to an aspiring new shooter.  Each of these new members brings a love of the sport, appreciation of our Second Amendment rights, and dedication to grow shooting sports for old and young alike” said Ken Pfau, Senior Vice President of Law Enforcement and Commercial Sales for FNH USA. “We couldn’t be happier with the shooters joining Tommy, Larry, Di, Erik, Mark and I.”
