SFP Junior Team Shooters Achieve Eagle Scout

Secure Firearm Products announced today that Junior Team Shooters, Aaron Surgi and Louis Surgi have both earned the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.

Eagle Scout is the highest advancement rank in Boy Scouting. To earn the rank, a Boy Scout must progress through the ranks in the following order: Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life and Eagle. They must also earn 21 Merit Badges, including: First Aid, Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Communications, Environmental Science, Personal Fitness, Camping, Family Life, Personal Management, Emergency Preparedness or Lifesaving, Cycling, Hiking, or Swimming. They have to serve six months in a troop leadership position. Plan, develop, and give leadership to a service project for any religious organization or any school or community, take part in a Scoutmaster conference and successfully complete and Eagle Scout board of review.

The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America-incorporated on Feb. 8, 1910, and chartered by Congress in 1916-is to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness.

Boy Scouting is a year-round program for boys 11 through 17 designed to achieve the aims of Scouting through a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster. (Boys also may become Boy Scouts if they have earned the Cub Scouting Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old and have completed the fifth grade and are at least 10 years old.)

Aaron and Louis Surgi are Junior Team Members of the SFP Shooting Team that competes in: NRA Action Pistol, ICORE, USPSA, IPSC and Steel Challenge. Other SFP Team Members include: Mark Itzstein, Ryan McQuilty, Doug Carden, Karl Piper, Warren Piper, David Surgi, Paul Surgi and Sydney Surgi, and junior members, Tiffany Piper, and Theresa Surgi.

“We are all extremely proud of Aaron and Louis,” said David Surgi, leader of the SFP Shooting Team and owner of Secure Firearm Products. “They knew it was going to take a lot of hard work to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, but they set their sights on achieving this goal, and they never gave up. It’s quite an accomplishment. One they will remember for the rest of their lives.”
