The US Bass Team Takes on the World

The United States Freshwater Fishing Federation (USF3) announced that Team USA will participate in the 2012 CIPS World Championship of Bass Fishing. The World Championship will be held October 31 to November 4 at Rio Caroni near Guayana, Venezuela. Peacock bass will be the primary species of the tournament.
The six members of the US Bass Team will be comprised of the 2011 Bassmaster Classic and Forrest Wood Cup champions along with the top anglers of the 2011 FLW and B.A.S.S Angler-of-the-Year standings.
The US Bass Team selection process ensures every competitive angler in the United States the opportunity to qualify for the team through participation in B.A.S.S and FLW tournaments.
“This will provide opportunity for more than one million tournament anglers to represent the United States in CIPS World Championship Bass Fishing events,” USF3 Bass Program Director Richard Perry said. “The two largest fishing organizations in the country have agreed to support USF3 in this effort. This will help us develop the strongest team possible to bring home the gold medal.”
The USF3 is the governing body of international competitive angling for the United States.
