Herlings in Top Form at Opening Round of Dutch Championship

Red Bull KTM MX2 factory rider Jeffrey Herlings threw down the challenge at the opening round of the Dutch Championships in Ass on Sunday with a resounding victory in both MX2 motos to thrill his home fans.

Factory teammate Jeremy van Horebeek was second in both races but Jordi Tixier, the newest recruit to the factory lineup did not race as he is still covering from flu.

Jeffrey said he was very satisfied after two wins that put him 51 and 40 seconds ahead of his nearest rival and indicated that he is in dominating form ahead of the start of the MX2 World Championship, which opens in Valkenswaard, NL on his favorite sandy surface on April 9.  “It was an easy ride for me today and the track was very well prepared. I was happy with my riding and the bike even though in the second moto it started to rain and towards the end I had some trouble with my goggles,” he said. All three of the KTM factory riders plan to ride in Round Two of the championship in next weekend in Halle.
