Northwestern Outdoors Radio added three more stations during the last month, and with 39 broadcasts a week on 32 affiliate stations, may soon saturate the Northwest radio market of Oregon, Washington and Western Idaho it’s heard in.
Host and producer John Kruse is astounded by the explosive growth of the show, saying “It’s hard to believe that at the beginning of 2011 we were airing on 13 stations and it would often take months to get our show on a new affiliate. Now we’ve actually got programming directors calling us and asking to carry our show”. Kruse attributes the growth of the hour-long program focusing on fishing, hunting and outdoor recreation within the Pacific Northwest to the fact that there are only a few other shows like his out there and there are a lot of people in the region who enjoy these activities and enjoy hearing about them every week on the radio.
KCVL AM 1240 – a news-talk station in Colville, Washington, is carrying the show Saturdays at 10 AM to an audience tuning in throughout Northeast Washington. KORV 93.5 FM – Lake County Radio – is airing the show in Lakeview and Southeast Oregon every Saturday at 8 AM and KDUN AM 1030 (K-DUNE) in Reedsport, Oregon is broadcasting the show four hours a week, Fridays afternoons from 3 to 5 and Saturdays mornings from 6 to 8 up along a wide swath of the Central and Southern Oregon Coast.
Northwestern Outdoors Radio is produced every week from its flagship station at 560 KPQ in Wenatchee, Washington and is now broadcast 39 times a week on 32 stations in the Northwest to include major markets in Boise, Eugene, Spokane, Tacoma, the Tri-Cities and Bend.
