Greene Promoted to Alabama’s Assistant Chief of Fisheries

Chris Greene has been promoted to Fisheries Section Assistant Chief with the Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries WFF). Greene is based at the Montgomery office, where as assistant chief he will oversee several fisheries management, development, and education programs.

Greene earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1992 and his Master of Science from Auburn University in 1995.  He began his tenure with the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources in 1996 at the Marion Fish Hatchery in Perry County.  He has also worked at the District-I office in Decatur and the former District-IV office in Prattville.  His most recent job assignment was in Montgomery as the Environmental Affairs Supervisor, where he consulted with various non-governmental organizations and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission regarding aquatic species issues.

Greene lives with his son Colton in Wetumpka, Alabama.  He grew up in Trenton, Tennessee where he developed an appreciation for the outdoors at an early age from his family and friends. He enjoys hunting, fishing, church involvement, and spending time with his son.
