The list of sponsors for the Texas Team Trail presented by Cabela’s continues to grow with the recent addition of MotorGuide. The addition of MotorGuide adds to a fast-growing bass tournament trail in a state well known for exceptional fishing.

“MotorGuide is well known for quality and innovation around the boating and fishing world,” said Mike Hastings, Tournament Director. “They have a tradition of providing anglers and boaters with some of the best equipment in the industry. We are pleased to have them join the great list of Texas Team Trail partners.”

MotorGuide, headquartered in Lowell, Mich., is a leading manufacturer of high quality, high value trolling motors and accessories.

Originally pinned Guide-Rite, MotorGuide was formed in the late 1960s with an emphasis on developing a trolling motor that was more powerful and more efficient. In the early 70s, MotorGuide became the first company to allow flat storage along the bow of the boat. MotorGuide became a part of Mercury Marine, a fellow Brunswick counterpart, in 2000 and introduced the Wireless Series Trolling Motors in 2005.

In 2009, MotorGuide partnered with Attwood Marine, also a Brunswick and Mercury Marine subsidiary, moving manufacturing operations from Tulsa, Okla., to their current home office plant in Lowell, Mich.

“We’re excited to partner with Texas Team Trail for the 2012 season,” said Ben Curtis, MotorGuide Category Director.  “The payout structure and bonus incentives are truly unique and provide a tremendous opportunity for anglers in and around the state of Texas.  It’s a great fit for MotorGuide and we look forward to what the future holds.”

The new Texas Team Trail, designed exclusively for team competition, begins March 10, 2012, and includes four qualifying events, plus a year-end championship. The circuit also includes unprecedented media coverage, not only within the Lone Star State but across the country as well.
