Freedom Group, Inc. (FGI) has named firearms industry spokesman Ted Novin as its director of public affairs and relations. Novin brings 15 years of public affairs, media relations and corporate communications experience to FGI, including nearly six years as the director of public affairs for the National Shooting Sports Foundation – the trade association for the firearms industry – and four years as a spokesman for the National Rifle Association. Serving as a managing partner at Kincade Communications, Novin has also developed and executed communications and public affairs campaigns for companies around the globe.
“This is an exciting day for the Freedom Group family,” said George Kollitides, chief executive officer and chairman of the FGI board. “Teddy brings a wealth of knowledge and an important skill set to FGI, largely derived from his public affairs work with the NRA and the firearms industry. He’s proven himself time and again as someone who can build bridges, cultivate relationships and effectively communicate complex and esoteric issues to multiple and varied audiences. No doubt, Teddy will be a strong asset to FGI.”
“This is a wonderful opportunity,” said Novin. “Freedom Group is an industry powerhouse whose workforce is dynamic, enthusiastic, and determined to produce the finest firearms and ammunition products on the market today. I’m honored to be joining the FGI team, and I very much appreciate the great responsibility that comes with representing these companies – companies that have shaped this industry, and this country, for more than 194 years.”
