Sportsman Channel Presents Over 90 Original Returning and New Series for Second Quarter Line-up

Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor TV for the American Sportsman, announced today a substantial second quarter lineup of new series and returning shows to debut Monday, March 26. The network will premiere new series during the quarter and boasts a strong lineup of fishing programming for “Strike & Set Saturdays” presented by Progressive. Included in that night are new series Fish TV and Force on Force and returning favorites like Ultimate Catch, One More Cast and Fly Fishing the World with Conway Bowman.
“Sportsman Channel is the American Sportsman’s network for all seasons” said Gavin Harvey, Sportsman Channel CEO. “The new and returning series we present this Spring all reflect our unique commitment to being 100% dedicated to hunting, shooting, and fishing.”
Other new series debuting the week of March 26 include: Working Man’s Retriever, Bullets and Broadheads, Pure Hunting, Fish TV, BDC World Championships and Point Blank Outdoors.
Returning viewer favorites include: Wild Fish Wild Places (second season), Trout Unlimited: On the Rise (fifth season), Ultimate Catch (fourth season) Fly Fishing the World (second season with new host), FlatsClass (sixth season), Dr. Deer (second season) and Bear Whisperer (second season).
Plus, series Dropped: Project Alaska, MeatEater with Steven Rinella and Brotherhood Outdoors are continuing their 2012 season with brand new episodes in the second quarter.
Sportsman Channel recently announced it is now a Nielsen rated network, a critical step in the network’s major 2012 initiative to significantly expand its roster of non-endemic advertisers. Sportsman’s universe has surpassed 31 million homes. The increase in households has helped to secure major endemic and non-endemic advertising partners such as Chevy Silverado, Ram Trucks, Can Am ATVs and SSVs and Realtree.
Pure Hunting – Join host Willi Schmidt on his quest to discover the last, best, Pure Hunting adventures left in America—and beyond—that any hunter can find, afford and conquer…if they’re determined enough to do it. The American Hunter is quickly becoming an endangered species, and one of the big reasons why is the perceived lack of great hunting destinations that are still accessible by the average Joe. But one man has set out to change that perception. Willi Schmidt is on a mission to prove that unspoiled, free-range, accessible and affordable hunting still exists all over this great nation, if you have the will, know-how, creativity and guts to find and conquer it. Fish TV – In this series, follow your host Leo Stakos and Ron James as they entertain and guide you to all the best fishing destination hot spots. Mondays 11:30 am, Wednesdays 3 am, Sundays 11:30 am ET.
Working Man’s Retriever – Dan Hosford’s “Working Man’s Retriever” television show aims to educate and instruct bird hunters on how to train and hunt their own gundog. Beyond that, the revolutionary show will explore and touch on every aspect of waterfowl and upland bird hunting – from securing access and properly hunting a field and decoying ducks and geese to veterinarian tips, conservation issues and preparing game birds for the table. Bullets & Broadheads – Join the Hendrick family each week for action packed, thrilling and challenging hunts across Texas in the new series Bullets & Broadheads. Hosted by experienced hunter Michael Hendrick, the series follows the Hendrick family as they hunt and fish throughout the Lone Star State. Joining Michael on Bullets & Broadheads is his wife Sonia and children Michael, Jr. and McKenzie. Together the Hendrick’s will explore and hunt the plains of West Texas, the Trinity River and even New Mexico in pursuit of wild game, whitetail deer, hogs, antelope, fish and more! Thursdays 8 am, Fridays 4 pm, Saturdays 1:30 pm ET.
Force on Force – ArmyBassAnglers joins forces with the Sportsman Channel to bring the spirit & Espirt de Corps of inter-service competition back to the waters of our country’s great lakes in the exclusive new series [FORCE on FORCE]. Each week military teams from each branch (Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines) will go head-to-head in a military style platoon level operation to compete in a 6 hour tournament, with no time-outs, under all situations with only the conditions changing–exactly like combat. It all cumulates with one team ultimately being crowned the 2012 FORCE on FORCE Champion–HOOAH! Mondays 9 am, Saturdays 8:30 pm & 11:30 pm. ET
BDC World Championships – Join Host Charley Jurney and expert Tournament Hunter Mark Hillman as they take you through exciting Finals action at The Patternmaster Bird Dog Circuit World Championships. More than 200 of the best dogs and handlers came to Hansen’s Outfitters in Anita, Iowa to find out if they were the best in the World. Each week a new Champion is crowned starting with Doubles Flushing action and working through Doubles Pointer, Singles Flusher, Singles Pointer, and Ladies Champions.
