Kora Shedenhelm led a record-setting day for Omaha Mater Dei Academy at the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) state tournament March 24 in Lincoln.

Shedenhelm set a Nebraska record in scoring 284 points for the top girls’ score. Teammate Harrison Crawford had the high boys’ score of 278. They helped Mater Dei Academy score a state-record 3,172 points to win the high school team division. Crawford and teammate Corie Fischer were the highest-scoring senior boy and girl, with 278 and 274 points, respectively.

The tournament at the Lancaster Event Center drew 400 elementary, middle school and high school archers from 19 schools. The tournament was the culminating event in the state for NASP, which is a physical education curriculum that has spread across the nation.
