Bushnell Introduces the Second Generation of the BackTrack Personal GPS

Bushnell Outdoor Products, an industry-leader in high performance sports optics and outdoor accessories for more than 60 years, has introduced a sleek updated version of its original BackTrack GPS. With a new ergonomic design 20 percent smaller than the original and a budget-friendly price, the BackTrack is a must have for people who enjoy the outdoors.

Several years ago Bushnell recognized the need for a simplified GPS device that would help consumers easily get from point a to point b. In 2007, the company introduced the BackTrack, a personal GPS device that provided users with simple distance and direction back to any location. With just two buttons and an easy-to-read display, the BackTrack was an instant hit with consumers looking for simple yet reliable GPS device.

Redesigned for 2012, the BackTrack combines advanced GPS technology with a digital compass and simple user interface that allows users to save up to three locations. Whether it’s marking a car in a crowded parking lot or a campsite in the woods, the BackTrack provides distance (yards/miles or meters/kilometers) and a directional arrow to any of the three saved locations at the push of a button. In addition, the BackTrack can be used as a digital compass.

The BackTrack will operate for 14-16 hours on 2 AAA batteries. With the push of a button, the grayscale LCD screen is quickly backlit and ready for use in low-light conditions. Available in April 2012 for a suggested retail price of $59.99, the BackTrack will be available in three color combinations: black/green, orange/black and grey/white.
