ATK Closing One Onalaska, Scaling Back Fenton Facilities

   04.04.12

ATK announced the closure of its Onalaska, Wisconsin location and a scaling back of its Fenton, Missouri facility. The company notified a total of 455 employees in its Sporting Group that they would be part of a workforce reduction resulting from this strategic move. The action was taken in order to focus on the group’s core capabilities, better align the organization to efficiently meet business needs and support forward-looking strategic initiatives. The company will add positions in Minnesota and Montana to support two new Centers of Excellence.

A new facility in Anoka, Minnesota will be home to the Distribution Center of Excellence where ammunition and gun accessories will be warehoused and fulfilled to customers. There will also be expansion in Manhattan (Bozeman), Montana to house the Plastic Molding Center of Excellence where gun holsters are the primary product. The company’s current operating facility in Oroville, California will be its Machining Center of Excellence, where gun accessory and ammunition reloading tools are manufactured.
