Shooting Illustrated’s July issue, on newsstands now, has everything you need to know about building a bug-out bag for when disaster strikes. Bryce M. Towsley details what to include for three levels of preparedness, from food to firearms and beyond. “…you should have three tiers of gear ready and you should keep them all close to your exit door,” Towsley writes. “The more gear you bring, the more comfortable you will be…but you need to be able to load it and bug out in 90 seconds.” In addition, Doctor of Pharmacy Jonathan Reynolds provides a list of easily obtained medicines to include in any bug-out bag, and the article also examines some pre-made kits for when it’s time to get out of Dodge.
The July issue is chock-full of guns, too, including the SIG Sauer P224 featured on the cover. “SIG has proven its traditional, metal-frame pistols can also be downsized in another way.
