Prior to lines in the water, teams will draw for the “peg” spot, which will determine their fishing and camping location for the duration of the event. Switlyk, the 27-year old Florida native, will be the USA’s sole representation at the international fishing competition. It’s a spot she’s familiar with.
“I was the only American competing in the World Catfish Classic.” said Switlyk. “I’m blessed to have the opportunity to once again represent Team USA and am looking forward to fly the American Flag high and proud during the opening ceremony parade.”
James Vincent “Vinny” will be bringing his tremendous experience and knowledge of carp fishing to Team USA fishing alongside Larysa Switlyk as her teammate! Vinny’s feelings on the event, “I feel it’s important to understand and work for each other, be if sharing a joke or helping to hold a 25kg carp for the camera. It’s about getting the best out of whatever swim we draw and being a team from the start.”
