Weatherby, Inc., Emmy Award winning outdoor TV show The Sovereign Sportsman, and the Rider Relief Fund invites fans of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) to attend the inaugural “Songwriters in the Round,” a spectacular evening of music and entertainment on Thursday, Sept. 6, at one of Nashville’s premier recording venues, The Castle Recording Studios in Franklin, Tenn.
“Songwriters in the Round” will benefit the Rider Relief Fund (RRF), a nonprofit organization established in 1998 to provide financial assistance to injured bull riders and bullfighters. PBR executives created RRF, which is funded entirely by contributions, but provides assistance to athletes at all levels.
“We are extremely honored to have been selected as the beneficiary of this exciting event,” said RRF Chairman Randy Little. “We’re looking forward to a great evening at a fantastic location.”
Sponsored by Weatherby in conjunction with Sovereign Media Group, the evening begins at 5 p.m. with “Up and Comers in the Round” which is a showcase of new artists and songwriters in all genres, including pop, blues, R&B, country, and jazz.
The main event, “In the Round,” will begin at 7 p.m., and features some of the hottest songwriters in country music including:
Casey Beathard – Songs include Kenny Chesney’s “Boys of Fall,” and Eric Church’s “Homeboy”
Kerry Kurt Phillips – Songs include George Jones’ “Where the Tall Grass Grows” and Joe Diffie’s “Prop Me Up Beside the Jukebox”
Darryl Worley – Songs include “Have You Forgotten” and “Awful, Beautiful Life”
Wynn Varble – Songs include Brad Paisley’s “Waiting on a Woman” and Chris LeDoux’s “I Would for You”
Dan Demay – Songs include Martina McBride’s “Everybody Does” and Tracy Lawrence’s “You Can’t Hide Redneck.”
Joining Beathard, Demay, Philllips, Varble, and Worley will be PBR riders Colby Yates, who released his own CD, “Right Amount of Renegade,” in 2011, and Justin McBride, who’s CD, “Don’t Let Go,” was released in 2007. Also attending and meeting fans will be current PBR superstar, and perennial fan favorite, Brendon Clark.
“We’re excited to be a part of such an incredible event with so many talented guests,” said Eric Richey, CEO of Sovereign Media Group. “We anticipate ‘Songwriters in the Round’ to be successful in its inaugural year and look forward to the years to come.”
Attendees will also have opportunities to enter prize drawings to win products from Weatherby, Yamaha, Kryptek, and many more. Tickets are $20 each, or $15 for groups of 10 or more, and include free bus transfers to and from the event from downtown Nashville hotels.
