Fishhound.com has announced that its contract with the Toyota Texas Bass Classic (TTBC) to provide “real-time scoring” for the tournament has been extended for two more years. Fishhound will be supplying its mobile platform at the upcoming TTBC Sept. 28-30 in Conroe, Texas, and again in 2013.
The agreement between Fishhound and the TTBC allows tournament judges to leverage Fishhound’s mobile platform to submit real-time catch information and scoring while they’re out on the water, creating a truly unique fan experience.
“We’re excited to have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success of the Toyota Texas Bass Classic, which is in essence the ‘World Series of fishing,’” said Rick Patri, Fishhound’s vice president, operations. “The tournament organizers recognize how much real-time scoring technology adds to the overall excitement and fan involvement.”
“Fishhound’s mobile technology enables our judges to record and relay angler catch information as the action takes place,” explained Lenny Francoeur, event director for the Toyota Texas Bass Classic. “Real-time scoring introduces a whole new element to tournament fishing that really engages fans attending the TTBC and those following online as well.”
The TTBC brings the world’s top 50 bass anglers together – pros from the Bassmaster Elite Series, Walmart FLW Tour and Bass Pro Shops PAA Tournament Series – to compete for $420,000 in cash and prizes, as well as the coveted title of “World Champion.” The event also has a positive effect upon the community and state of Texas, generating a significant amount of money for Texas Parks & Wildlife Department programs that introduce children and non-traditional users to fishing and the outdoors. To date, the TTBC has raised $1.25 million for such programs, with additional donations of $250,000 pledged this year.
