OutdoorHub 11.08.12
It’s Made in the USA optics, a gun trust for NFA firearms, the Illinois State Rifle Association’s reaction to the new firearms tax in Cook County, an organization that gets disabled veterans back into the shooting sports, and more, this week on Tom Gresham’s Gun Talk Radio, the original nationally-syndicated radio talk show about guns and the shooting sports.
This Veterans Day, Mossberg’s Tom Taylor stops by to discuss Honored American Veterans Afield, or HAVA, an organization formed in 2007 “to help the healing and re-integration of disabled combat veterans back into normal American life through participation in outdoor events.” From Family Days at the range to hog hunting in Texas, the veterans get the chance to reconnect with their love for the outdoors. Another company with strong ties to the military is Trijicon – counting the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army, and U.S. Special Forces as just a few of their customers. Tom Munson drops by with news about what’s new in the world of optics, including a Crossbow ACOG with a range finder. View all their products at https://www.trijicon.com.
If you own, or want to own, a NFA firearms or suppressor, you need a gun trust. Attorney David Goldman has established GunTrust.com, so one can “overcome situations where the Chief LEO in your area is reluctant or unwilling to sign an ATF Form 4 or Form 1, and allow other people to be authorized users of your Title II firearms without violation of the National Firearms Act.” Check out his blog http://www.guntrustlawyer.com/, and http://www.guntrust.com/ for more info.
Recently, Cook County Board Members passed a law to tax firearms purchases an additional twenty-five dollars. Initially, the tax was to be used to help defray medical costs, but is now instead heading for anti-gun community groups in Illinois. Richard Pearson, Executive Director of the Illinois State Rifle Association breaks down exactly what the passing of this tax means for Cook County residents, and how the IRSA continues to fight against it.
