Montana Angler Fly Fishing recently signed an exclusive lease to provide all inclusive fly fishing packages on a large 11,500-acre ranch north of Big Timber, Montana. The ranch sits at the base of the Crazy Mountains and its impressive mountain scenery was featured as the backdrop in several riding scenes of Robert Redford’s “The Horse Whisperer”. In addition to spectacular scenery the ranch also has private access to three miles of Big Timber Creek, which offers outstanding mid-summer dry fly fishing. Guests will stay at a rustic off-the-grid cabin that is surrounded by aspen groves, firs and pines. Wildlife is common and mule deer, elk, moose and bear are frequently viewed. Montana Angler specializes in designing fly fishing vacations for its guests and works with multiple fly fishing lodges and private ranches in Southwest Montana.
“This is truly one of the most spectacular pieces of property in all of Montana,” states Montana Angler Fly Fishing owner and outfitter Brian McGeehan. “Many of our guests enjoy really getting away from it all on their fishing trips and this setting provides unsurpassed mountain scenery along with unpressured fishing opportunities. We want our anglers to experience Montana like it was 75 years ago and have a great day of fishing in a sublime environment without seeing many other fisherman. We are really excited about our new Big Timber Creek Ranch packages and think it is a very unique opportunity that a lot of anglers will love.”
In addition to fishing the private waters on the ranch, Montana Angler Fly Fishing also plans to take guests to several other blue ribbon fisheries including the Yellowstone River, Boulder River, Stillwater River and two other large ranches in the region with private access fishing. According to McGeehan “our guests will be able to fish a different body of water on each day of their trip, we really want to showcase the variety of fishing options that region has to offer.”
