Hunt for Heroes, Pursuit Channel Renew after Heartbreaking Catastrophe

Despite a devastating tragedy last November, Show of Support (SOS) is continuing with its mission to honor military veterans.  Part of that commitment is its Hunt for Heroes television show on the Pursuit Channel, and SOS has renewed its position on that network for 2013.

The devastating crash between a freight train and a parade float moving American military veterans on November 12, 2012 in Midland, TX remains one of the most unsettling tragedies in American history.   U.S. Marine Gary Stouffer, 37, and U.S. Army veterans Lawrence Boivin, 47, Joshua Michael, 34, and William Lubbers, 43, were killed and 17 others were injured.

The Show of Support organization that hosts this annual “thank you” weekend for the soldiers, a world-class experience that includes outfitting veterans on complementary deer hunting excursions and a Hunt for Heroes national television component, was created in 2004.

“Shock and grief don’t begin to express the emotions from the loss of these American heroes during our 2012 tribute to them,” said SOS President Terry Johnson. “Everyone continues to find the strength to cope and heal, and an overwhelming consensus leads us to the belief that the 2013 television season of Hunt for Heroes on Pursuit Channel goes on as an ultimate compliment to those who’ve served our country so valiantly; and, now, for those special heroes who were lost last year in West Texas.”

Show of Support’s Hunt for Heroes Series Synopsis:

Hunt for Heroes focuses on whitetail deer hunting by soldiers recuperating from the effects of war. The properties these veterans are welcomed to include some of the most celebrated ranches in America.   Action with big deer, storytelling and identifying with the trials and triumphs soldiers are hallmarks of every episode of Hunt for Heroes.
