West Marine, Port Supply Offer Sea-Fire’s Novec 1230 Systems

West Marine, the largest specialty retailer of boating supplies and accessories, now offers Sea-Fire Marine’s fire suppression systems containing 3M™ Novec™ 1230 Fire Protection Fluid. They are also now available through Port Supply, West Marine’s wholesale division. Both carry the Sea-Fire systems in their 2013 catalogs, and online at www.westmarine.com and www.portsupply.com.
An innovative extinguishing agent, Novec 1230 complies with strict global standards for protecting the environment. Sea-Fire products carried by West Marine and Port Supply include nine models of automatic, fixed-mount fire suppression systems to protect areas from 25-500 cu. ft. All bear USCG approval and carry a three year warranty.
Both highly effective and environmentally responsible, Novec 1230 suppresses fire by removing heat energy at the molecular level to the point of flame unsustainability. It presents zero ozone depletion level and has a Global Warming Potential of just one. Due to its low toxicity, Novec 1230 is safe for use in staff-occupied areas. Non-conductive, non-corrosive and residue-free, it won’t damage computers and other delicate electronics.
