On Episode 83 of Gun Guy Radio Jake is “enlightened” by Dave Barnett of Elzetta Designs. Although Elzetta is a relative newcomer to the tactical flashlight industry, this all-American company produces incredibly high quality flashlights and weapon mounts that have achieved high regard far from their Kentucky home. Dave explains that Elzetta flashlights actually have their origins in the weapon mounts, which were Elzetta’s first products. After evaluating many popular lights, Dave and his partner realized that they felt uncomfortable recommending any of them to their customers. Elzetta flashlights were born. These lights have survived all manner of torture tests including underwater disassembly and reassembly, using the light as a hammer and even dropping the light 300 feet from a helicopter. Each Elzetta flashlight is modular so that any component (bezel, lens, body, and tail cap) is compatible with any other component. Elzetta continues to manufacture light mounts for both modern sporting rifles and tactical shotguns.
In this week’s Product Spotlight segment Brownell’s Paul Levy introduces us to Mesa Tactical. Mesa’s buttstocks, shell holders, and sling attachments as well as their other products are all made in the USA.
