The Kessler Canyon Shooting Academy Announces New Advanced Personal Safety Course

Kessler Canyon, The Kessler Collection’s premier outdoor resort and hunting lodge, has announced its advanced personal safety course for high net worth high-risk individuals. Kessler Canyon Shooting Academy students will learn proficient, ethical and strategic shooting with an emphasis on personal defense tactics in a world-class setting. Classroom instruction as real-world hands-on safety training, will take place on Kessler Canyon’s 23,000 acres of diverse terrain.
Beginning September 2013, Kessler Canyon’s Shooting Academy’s course will be hosted by Terry Vaughan. Mr. Vaughan is a current body language expert and motivational speaker, and former British Royal Marine Commando and competitor on season four of Top Shot. He currently is working on a pilot for his new reality television series, Unbreakable, that places series competitors in many personal defense situations. “When we developed our Advanced Personal Safety Course, we needed to do so with the ultimate safety of our clients in mind. High net worth – high risk clients of ours had been asking for a course that would give them the techniques and tactics to lead a safety conscious lifestyle for both themselves and their families. It was only natural that our Shooting Academy took the steps necessary to implement this sort of course, and implement it with advanced personal safety protection in mind.”
The course curriculum offers three safety phases. The first provides an introduction to body language essentials and teaches students how to read people more effectively. Phase II showcases the dynamics for real-world personal defense to include combat and disarming techniques. The last phase offers classroom and in-the-field techniques for defensive and offensive driving techniques to escape an ambush and kidnapping attempt. Too, students will learn how to use and leverage a vehicle for self-protection and safety. Optional training for home attack, kidnapping, and advanced survival skills are also offered. “We are elated to be joined by Terry Vaughan and to be able to share his tremendous knowledge of personal defense and survival skills with our Shooting Academy students.
