New Jersey Electronic License System Goes Mobile

The Division’s Electronic License System (ELS) website is now mobile friendly.  The website has been modified for use on all mobile devices including smartphones and tablets so that downloading an app is not necessary.  Hunters who currently have the Pocket Ranger App on their phones will find that the Mobile ELS links are operational.

The new access capabilities make it even easier for hunters to purchase licenses and permits, apply for lottery permits and to even report deer harvests.   If electing to purchase hunting licenses using a mobile device, special Print-at-Home Licenses will be sent via e-mail as a .pdf attachment to the recipient (something that was unavailable before).

Reporting a deer harvest via the Mobile ELS site is also fast and easy.  Once the information is entered, hunters will be sent an e-mail confirmation containing their Confirmation Number and an optional text message (note that users who receive texts will get charged for their carrier costs and that NEITHER of these options are available on the original full ELS Internet site).  In order to take advantage of Mobile deer harvest reporting, hunters must make sure that the contact number listed in their CID profile reflects their cell phone number (which can be done within the mobile site itself).  This alternative is especially valuable to those wanting to avoid potentially long wait times that can sometimes be associated with the 1-855-I HUNT-NJ number.

Please keep in mind that two features not directly available on the Mobile-friendly site are the ability to reprint previously purchased Print-at-Home items (e.g. fishing licenses/trout stamps, boat ramp permits, horseback riding permits, shellfish license-type items, etc.) and registering for Hunter Education courses.  Customers needing to perform those actions must click on the link to see the original Full ELS Internet Site.
