NTOA Announces Five New Products Earning the Prestigious Member Tested and Recommended Seal

The National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) has released ratings for five (5) new products that earned the prestigious Member Tested and Recommended seal. The companies that participated include: Propper, Surefire, AgileMesh Inc. and Tactical Services Group.

This month’s products tested include the book Low Light Combatives by low-light specialist Ed Santos from the  Tactical Services Group (TSG), which received an overall score of 4.3 points. Officers who reviewed the book rated it as an unbiased, highly informative and readable discourse on low light engagements, how the eye functions and what goes into choosing a duty light.

AgileMesh received an overall score of 4.27 for the SENTINEL utilizing the AgileMesh Command Mesh protocol. Testing officers found the system rapidly deployable, easy to operate and required little technical knowledge while providing excellent situational awareness.

The Surefire X300 Ultra weapon light received an overall score of 4.65. Officers found the new weapon light to produce a very white and focused light and highly recommend this light as an upgrade to older Surefire light systems.

Propper provided two products for review: the Independent Button Up short sleeve dress shirt (overall score of 4.46) and the BA Softshell jacket (overall score of 4.92). The Independent Button Up shirt received high scores for its concealable functions, comfort and easy care. The jacket received praise for its comfort, lightweight design and concealable pocket features.

The National Tactical Officers Member Tested and Recommended Program allows manufacturers to have their products tested in the field by the law enforcement community. Officers test the products while on the job and rate the products based on design, quality, convenience, performance, durability, application, ease of use, storage, comfort, size, versatility and accuracy (not all test standards apply to all products). Officers score the products 1.0 to 5.0 with 5.0 being the highest rating achieved. Products that receive a rating of 3.0 or higher receive the NTOA Field Tester Recommended Status and are allowed to use the NTOA Member Tested & Recommended Logo on product materials.

NTOA members utilize the online Members Tested and Recommended database for making individual or team purchases. Manufacturers submit two to four product samples for review along with a testing fee of $200 per product. Products are shipped to NTOA using the product submission form.
