Destination Spain and World Fishing Journal Headline the Fall 2013 Programming Schedule on WFN

The Two All-New WFN Original Programs Anchor a Lineup That Includes 19 New & Returning Series Starting Saturday, Oct. 5 and Sunday, Oct. 6

World Fishing Network, the leading entertainment destination and digital resource for anglers throughout North America, today announced its Fall programming schedule, which includes 19 new and returning series headlined by two all-new WFN originals, Destination Spain and World Fishing Journal.

Destination Spain, premiering exclusively on WFN starting Saturday, Oct. 5 at 12:30 p.m. ET, follows seasoned guide and passionate fly-fisher, Josh Nugent, and worldwide fly-fisher/jet setter, Richard French, as they embark on a true adventure to Spain in pursuit of trophy fish in the renowned Pyrenees Mountains. Following in the footsteps of author and journalist Ernest Hemingway, a journey immortalized in his novel, The Sun Also Rises, nearly 90 years ago, Josh and Richard must face physical, mental, logistical and cultural challenges amidst a backdrop of scenic splendor on their whirlwind tour. From the offshore pursuit of tuna to urban rivers outside of Barcelona and high mountain streams bordering Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, both anglers put their experience, knowledge and savvy to the test on unfamiliar ground. Their adventure culminates in Pamplona with the annual Running of the Bulls Festival, rounding out this miniseries with culture, adventure, great fishing and stunning scenery in every episode of Destination Spain.

Another all-new WFN original, World Fishing Journal, brings together a roster of talented sports producers to craft engaging, story-driven features based around the angling community and fishing industry. The many facets that comprise this great sport are often tales of hard work, persistence and conservation. World Fishing Journal tells these stories, delivering entertaining and compelling content that caters to both the hardcore enthusiast and casual angler. In the inaugural episode, go inside ICAST, the world’s largest sport fishing trade show, witness the crazy antics that take place at the Original Redneck Fishing Tournament in Bath, Ill. and check out Shimano’s revolutionary water weigh-in system at the Kingston Canadian Open.  Future episodes of World Fishing Journal will feature event coverage from the Bassmaster Classic, Forrest Wood Cup and Texas Bass Classic, a closer look at Keep America Fishing, how the angling industry deals with natural disasters, a day with the all-time money leader in professional angling, Kevin VanDam, and more.

World Fishing Journal premieres Sunday, Oct. 6 at 11:30 a.m. ET with new episodes and content the first Sunday of every month.
