Steve Ferrara Named VP Fishing Tackle Division for Shimano American Corp.

Thursday Shimano American Corp. President Dave Pfeiffer named Steve Ferrara the new tackle division vice president, effective immediately. Ferrara has a 20-plus year career with the tackle manufacturer, starting at Shimano Canada Ltd. in 1988. He most recently was vice president of operations for the tackle division.

In his new role, Ferrara takes on responsibility for all aspects of Shimano’s tackle division throughout North America. Pfeiffer notes that he has extensive experience in Shimano’s business including all brands and operations in the U.S. and Canada, along with overseas.

“Steve’ background and years of service with Shimano provides our fishing tackle division with solid leadership and capabilities needed to grow our business further and improve total operations,” said Pfeiffer. “With agreements such as we have with Jackall, and expanding our U.S. footprint with new distribution center facilities in Irvine and Ladson, S.C. over the past year, the vice president role has grown significantly. Having Steve and his experience in this position is an exciting change for our tackle division.”

A native of Montreal where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Concordia University, Ferrara moved to Shimano’s U.S. office in Irvine in 1994. He’s coordinated Shimano’s involvement with the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation, efforts recognized in 2004 when RBFF named Shimano ‘Manufacturer of the Year,’ and continues his involvement with the American Sportfishing Association.
