The Arizona Game and Fish Department’s award-winning television show, Arizona Wildlife Views, received five Emmy nominations in three different categories from the Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The nominations are:

Environmental Program

  • Arizona Wildlife Views – The Nature of Fire. Producers: Jim Paxon and Carol Lynde
  • Eagle Nest Reborn. Producer: Carol Lynde

Environmental Program Segment

  • A Vital Tool for Saving Endangered Species. Producer: David Majure
  • Moving Bighorn Sheep. Producer: Carol Lynde

Direction, Post-Production

  • Moving Bighorn Sheep. Director: Carol Lynde

Arizona Wildlife Views is a 13-week half-hour original series produced by the Information Branch of the Arizona Game and Fish Department. The show airs on local PBS stations as well as city cable channel across the state. Full episodes and individual segments can also be viewed on the Game and Fish website at www.azgfd.gov/video.

Producer David Majure, who joined Arizona Game and Fish this year, was also nominated in the Societal Concerns category for the public affairs program Horizon, which airs on KAET-TV.

The Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter consists of Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Wyoming and El Centro, California. The Emmys will be presented in Phoenix on Oct. 19.
