Ron Spomer is a veteran outdoor writer and photographer with more than three decades of experience under his belt. This week Ron will tap into his extensive knowledge of firearms and ballistics in order to help you select the best gun and ammunition for the game animal you seek. He’ll also talk about a recent African hunt of his own where he hunted for and harvest a 13 foot, nearly 4,000 pound hippo. Tune in!

Daniel and Dorea Du Toit are the owners Kolobe Safaris with more than 20 years of experience in the field. They provide custom made African Hunting Safaris on private land across Southern Africa including: South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, and Zimbabwe. Professional Hunter Daniel Du Toit joins Jim and Trav this week to relive Jim’s cape buffalo hunt and to talk about the many kinds of hunts and activities they offer.

For many hunters, the opportunity to hunt Africa is a once in a lifetime experience. However, being unprepared can cost you the entire hunt and a lot of money. This week Jim will talk about what steps you’ll need to take and what paperwork you’ll need to get your hunting guns through the airports and into another country and then back.

Reliving the Hunt  – Jim’s Hunting Experience –

Jim relives and talks about each of his hunts with Kolobe Safaris. At the end of his trip Jim harvested a total of five animals including: a cape buffalo, gemsbok, warthog, impala, and a blue wildebeest.  He’ll talk about the different circumstances of each of these hunts, the firearms he used and his overall impression of his first African safari.
