The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) announced that renowned 1911 manufacturer Wilson Combat has added its name to the list of sponsors for the Smith & Wesson IDPA Back Up Gun Nationals.

“We’re very pleased to announce that Wilson Combat, one of the founding corporate sponsors of IDPA, will again play a major role in yet another IDPA championship with their generous support of the new Smith & Wesson Back Up Gun Nationals,” said Robert Ray, membership and marketing director for IDPA.

Wilson Combat joins Apex Tactical Specialties, Harris Publications, Michigan Ammo Company, the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the Self Defense Association, SIG SAUER and Smith & Wesson, the title sponsor, in supporting this latest IDPA national championship event. As part of their support, Wilson Combat will be providing the range hospitality during the three-day championship.

“Wilson Combat is pleased to be a part of the new Back Up Gun Nationals. We are very proud of IDPA and their accomplishments of exponentially growing the shooting sports community. Good luck to all of the participants and we look forward to sponsoring this match for years to come,” Tressa Bohannan, marketing director for Wilson Combat.

The Smith & Wesson IDPA Back Up Gun Nationals will take place November 14-16 and feature a 13-stage course of fire with a round count of 180. Held on the indoor ranges of the Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, match officials expect the event to draw upwards of 200 top IDPA shooters vying for titles in either the Pistol or Revolver division.
