Christie’s Advantage in BF Rankings Still Strong

Jason Christie, the winner of two FLW Tour events and a Bassmaster Elite Series tournament this year, will begin the 2014 campaign with a lead of nearly 7 points over reigning FLW Angler of the Year Andy Morgan in the BassFan World Rankings presented by Livingston Lures.

Christie was one of four competitors to occupy the No. 1 position this year. FLW stalwart David Dudley began the season there before giving way to Brent Chapman in March. Todd Faircloth and Edwin Evers also had stints at the top of the chart.

In the latest reshuffling, former No. 1 Bryan Thrift held onto the 3rd position, while Evers and Faircloth flip-flopped at Nos. 4 and 5. Reigning Elite Series AOY Aaron Martens is 6th.

Steady Jacob Powroznik moves up one slot to 7th and Forrest Wood Cup champion Randall Tharp re-enters the Top 10 at No. 8. Brent Ehrler, also a former No. 1, held fast at 9th and Dudley dropped 3 spots to 10th.

The biggest upward moves within the Top 20 in the wake of the Toyota Texas Bass Classic earlier this month were made by Kevin VanDam (18th to 12th) and Bobby Lane (23rd to 17th).

The next event that will impact the Rankings will be the Lake Okeechobee FLW Tour, set for Feb. 6-9 in Clewiston, Fla.
