New Jersey’s Youth Firearm Deer Hunt this Saturday, November 23

This Saturday, November 23, is New Jersey’s Youth Firearm Deer Hunt Day. The day is part of the NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife’s Take a Kid Hunting Program and is open to those with a valid Youth Firearm Hunting License.

The youth firearm hunt is an extension of the Six-day Firearm Season so no special deer permit is required. In addition to the Youth License, the hunter must be under the direct supervision of a person who is at least 21 years old and who has a valid firearm license. Direct supervision is defined as the youth hunter and mentoring adult set up together at the same location and hunting as a unit – not hunting independently.

For more information on this opportunity to create special memories visit http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/news/2013/youth_firearm_hunt.htm on the Division’s website.
