Tools For 2014 Business Year Success Inside December Issue of Shooting Industry

Shooting Industry launches the 2014 New Business Year with the colossal December issue, the first of two expanded editions that take an in-depth look at the industry’s challenges and opportunities dealers should prepare for in the coming year.

“The New Business Year presents a number of challenges for the industry, with firearms dealers expressing concern about the tentative economy, consumer retention, product saturation, ammunition shortages, legislative threats and technology pressure,” said Russ Thurman, Shooting Industry publisher and editor. “While there are plenty of challenges for 2014, there is also a measure of optimism. Dealers and range operators are expanding their operations, much of it fueled by the increase in profits during 2013.”

In, “Use SWOT To Build A Success Plan,” Ron Buschmann, owner of Shooter’s Supply & Law Enforcement Equipment Co. in Louisville, Ky., outlines how to maintain successful business in the New Year.

“From this point, we need to ask ourselves, honestly, what areas of our operation need improvement? Are there product or market niches that we are currently not serving? Are we taking full advantage of technology and other resources?” said Buschmann.
