Ohio Newspaper Runs Pro-Gun Editorial

Why didn’t the Sandy Hook murders result in passage of new federal gun laws? That explanation came in an editorial in the The Columbus (OH) Dispatch Wednesday, written by noted firearms author and broadcaster, Tom Gresham.
“Americans have a good BS filter,” said Gresham. “They looked at this tragedy and realized that forcing teachers to be defenseless dooms them. If the police arrive in 10 minutes, that’s eight minutes too late. As a result, Americans reject additional restrictions on gun rights, and they buy more firearms for their own protection.”
Glenn Sheller, editorial page editor of the The Columbus Dispatch said, “Gun control and gun rights are emotional, controversial and important issues and it’s vital that all sides be heard. Unfortunately, there is a kind of self-segregation at work, with gun-control advocates clustered in the mainstream media and gun-rights advocates clustered in media geared toward gun-owners and hunters. With columns such as this one by Tom Gresham, I hope to give our readers access to both.”
