Well-respected outdoor industry, branding and media experts James Kolstad, Todd Hansen and John Kohl have partnered to create a new marketing, communications and branding agency: Lake Strategic Marketing.

With offices in Minneapolis, MN and Milwaukee, WI, Lake Strategic Marketing specializes in branding and overall marketing strategy, communications, social media marketing, graphic design, collateral development (including print, video and internet-based materials), and expertise in special events. Lake Strategic Marketing’s goal is to help clients find their voice in a crowded marketplace and become leaders in their respective spaces.

Kolstad, Hansen and Kohl each come from an extensive background in the business side of the outdoor industry and all are avid sportsmen. James Kolstad, President, has spent nearly 30 years as Branding and Creative Director helping clients succeed in industrial, luxury, fashion and lifestyle brands. His background includes branding, media direction, photography, print, collateral, interactive, social media and broadcast production. In the past, he’s worked with brand leaders like Cabela’s, Rage Broadheads and Cuddeback.

Todd Hansen, CEO, has a 30-year track record of building great brands and incredible businesses. His most recent achievement is having started and served as COO for the wildly successful cable network, Sportsman Channel. John Kohl, VP, has nearly 10 years experience as a media executive in the outdoors space and has proficiency creating media and marketing plans for all budgets. Most recently Kohl was a top-performing Account Executive at Sportsman Channel where his tenacity landed him top-tier endemic and non-endemic clients, as well as sold high-level opportunities such as title sponsorships and network stunts.
