Astral Emerges into the Kayak Fishing Market with Debut of Ronny Fisher PFD

Leading provider of personal floatation devices and water-specific footwear, Astral, announces the release of their first kayak fishing-specific vest, the Ronny Fisher. Loaded with technical features, the Ronny Fisher, which hits retail shelves in February, is loaded with unique features that meet the specific needs of kayak anglers.
“Merging into the fishing market is a natural progression for us,” notes Astral’s founder and design architect, Philip Curry. “We’re watersport enthusiasts and activists dedicated to designing the smartest and most innovative gear for all those that enjoy life on the water.” Designing a true fishing PFD brought a different kind of challenge to Astral whose ten plus years of experience has been specific to whitewater and recreational designs. The team enlisted crucial user-based feedback from the North Carolina Kayak Fishing Association (NCKFA), a group of expert kayak anglers based in Astral’s home state.
To provide the perfect fit and comfort, the Ronny Fisher utilizes Astral’s proprietary ThinVent technology that includes a super thin foam that is evenly distributed in the back and ventilated for maximum comfort in hot weather. It also allows the user to be able to fully recline in the tallest of seats without interference. Like all Astral PFDs, the Ronny Fisher is articulated to wrap the torso while the large arm openings provide a natural and unrestricted range of motion.
Durable and functional, the Ronny Fisher utilizes a 500d CORDURA shell and offers an abundance of storage with large zippered pockets and accessory compartments. The two large fold down pockets in the front are sized perfectly to fit up to a 6.5” x 4.25” tackle box (sold separately). Safety features include reflective accents on the front and back and is available in Astral’s very own Flash Green color option. Additional features include a zinger and tool organizer with Velcro closure, a zippered beverage holder, stowable rain hood in neck collar, additional attachment points for all tools and gadgets, and plenty of pockets to hold a fishing license, phone, or other accessories.
