Professional Sporting Clays Association Announces 2014 Campaign

The Professional Sporting Clays Association (PSCA) is looking forward to an exciting year in 2014. PSCA will host its first annual professional tour for the top sporting clays athletes. The tour provides the top 60 qualified shooters, men and women, with elite-level, closed competition, competing for the largest financial purse in the sport’s history. The PSCA also serves as a professional governing body that will offer access to media, marketing, PR, and a consistent prize purse, providing these athletes the benefits seen in other professional sports. The professional tour will be covered by NBC Sports Network, featuring nine prime time and weekend telecasts to air July through September.

PSCA is operated in coordination with Dan Carlisle’s Gold Medal Shooting Academy. Dan Carlisle, President of PSCA and Olympic medalist, notes: “Although we are excited to provide our PSCA competitors with the benefits that are associated with being a professional athlete—such as increased media exposure—the benefits of the PSCA will not be limited to the athletes on the tour. We strongly believe that the PSCA will be instrumental in growing our sport, and the benefits of that growth will be experienced by amateur competitors, club owners, and the entire industry.”

The PSCA has the full support of the National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA), which will continue their dominant role in organizing and promoting the sport. Executive Director for the NSCA and NSSA Michael Hampton, Jr. states, “The NSCA is in full support of this project which will further promote sporting clays to the general public and main stream media. PSCA can only help the NSCA become stronger in our efforts to make sporting clays a widely recognized sport.”

PSCA representatives will be at the 2014 SHOT Show and are available for meetings to discuss organizational activities and sponsorship opportunities. To schedule a meeting, contact Mark Weeks at mweeks@psca.com or (706) 566-1276.
